Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou was born in Beaumont in France's Puy-de-Domme on 8 August 1976. She was eldest child of four. Since a young age, her dentist doctor parents as well as her teacher mother encouraged her passion of drama and theater. The passion for theater was the one that overshadowed her initial wish to be the first primatologist. The rise of her as an actor in the young age was swift and marked by early success. When she first began her acting career, she was a participant in Jeunes Premiers a French talent search TV program which was a part of Canal+ in 1998. She also won Best Young Actress for the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. Tautou was a student at in the Institut Catholique de Paris in Paris as a child and enrolled in the school at an early age but has sworn off her Catholic childhood. Now, she declares herself to be non-Catholic. Apart from her acting work, she is also pursuing modeling. She was the model for L'Oreal Mont Blanc, Chanel and was dubbed "The Chanel Muse". Also, she has an intense passion for photography. She recently exhibited her work at the Arles Festival under the title Superficial. Her photographs are largely about fame and celebrity. The exhibit also includes a collection of self portraits in addition. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom and global fame after her debut role in the role of Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain. Amelie made international waves in the field of box office, and won awards around all over the world. It is currently the top grossing French film of the French language in the US. After this huge success, Tautou was later cast in a variety of films, which included British dramas like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long dimanche de fiancailles. Tautou also appeared alongside Tom Hanks in Ron Howard's The Da Vinci Code directed by Dan Brown.
